That starts with the components most likely to fail and fragment. We redesigned the reaction wheel using a Safe Failure approach: an aluminium rotor that burns up completely, a temperature-triggered nitinol ring that passively shatters it after power loss, ferrofluid levitation, and vibration-free motor control.
